Our Story

The Isle of Axholme Tractor Run

Once upon a time there were 3 men sat in a pub,

Stuart Lindley, Richard Thompson & Geoff Fillingham.

All of them had taken part in tractor runs for some time.

Knowing the surrounding countryside well they decided they would create a tractor run of their own. So with encouragement from other tractor enthusiasts they set about organising their first tractor run.

The charity chosen by the 3 was Lindesy Lodge Hospice as it was close to all 3 mens hearts.

So the date was set, the route mapped out,and the stewards orgainised.

42 Tractors turned out on a lovely june day in 2014.

So the seed was sown, the tractor run was a success and nearly £2000 was raised.

By the time 2015 came around everyone was raring to go.

Once again a new route was mapped out and everyone was looking forward to the day.

This time the number of tractors doubled 84 in total turned up and just over £3600 was raised.

The 3rd tractor run in 2016 was again very well attended with 80 tractors turning up to follow yet again a new route and a total of over £3000 again was raised.

In late 2016 once again sat in the pub 1 of the men had an idea ,

Why not have a small tractor run on boxing day.

With a few helpers a shorter route was mapped out .

This time the charity chosen was the Alzheimer's Society.

Over £450 was raised with 19 tractors turning up for the run.

We are now into 2017 and the 4th run is on 18th June 2017 .

Preparations for the run are coming along well.

All are welcome please come along and join us.
